The alluvial, gravelly vineyard soils of the Wairau Valley are
free draining with low fertility, resulting in extremely low yields
that guarantee concentrated flavours and accelerate the ripening
cycle. Marlborough produces a unique style of wine and the Sunshine
Bay Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir are no exception.
These wines were created with a simple philosophy – accentuate
all that is great about the Marlborough region by utilising ripe
fruit to craft premium wines. |

Sauvignon Blanc – produced from very low yielding estate vineyards,
the grapes are machine harvested in mid to late April, and are fermented
and aged in stainless steel tanks. Vinified in a lively, fresh,
aromatic style, this wine has a clean, fresh approach with a softness
of balance that makes it ideal for easy drinking. Its approachability
makes it a moorish aperitif or an ideal accompaniment for everyday
cuisine.

Pinot Noir – Hand picked and whole bunch pressed the grapes
are cold soaked & fermented in open top stainless steel fermenters.
After a gentle pressing cycle the wine is aged for 9 months in fine
grain French oak barrels before bottling. Floral notes, fragrant cherries,
and nutmeg spice combine to produce a soft, round, fruit-driven style,
perfect for light cuisine. |
